Playing with the Four P’s

Here is a you tube video clip of a very simple explanation on the 4 P’s of marketing from Smart Money Magazine.  There are several versions from different sources, but this is the best one I have found. (The Four P’s of marketing was popularized by Neil Borden, then president of the American Marketing Association, in his 1953 presidential address.

The 4 P’s (found in almost all marketing textbooks and classes) stand for – Product, Price, Place and Promotions; they are the most fundamental issues a marketer faces and has to address. They are the variables that constitute a marketing mix – also known as your “offering”. Essentially, what a marketer does is tinker with the four P’s in the marketing mix. Using market research and experimentation, the marketer uses different combination and coordination of these variables in order to obtain the best results.
