Maple Ridge Mompreneur – finalist for Dragons Den Greenvention contest

Maple Ridge Mompreneur Gregg-Aylott was one of three finalists for the CBC Dragon’s Den Greenvention contest sponsored by Sun Chip.

On Monday night, June 7, 2010, CBC Dragon’s Den announced the three finalists for the Greenvention contest.   Nursery Natural Baby Wipes of Maple Ridge ranked 3rd from amongst a total of over 500 candidates from all across Canada for her product’s impact to the environment.  This alone is quite an achievement.

A few months ago, we featured Andrea Gregg-Aylott as a budding entrepreneur, so we are naturally excited about her extraordinary accomplishment in being awarded the third finalist for the Greenvention contest.  This is simply a great validation from the Dragons for her contribution to the betterment of our environment.

The Baby Wipe all natural product is a greenvention of Andrea-Gregg-Aylott, a graduate of the Douglas College Self Employment Program, where Andrea honed her business skills.

It is great to see Canadian entrepreneurs showcasing their innovation and creativity through new products. Isn’t it interesting that two out of the three finalists are WOMEN? Way to go – Andrea Gregg-Aylott of Nursery Naturals Baby Wipes!!!

I noticed that the names of the finalists and their companies were mentioned very casually, and unless one has a pen in hand to jot down the names, it would be difficult to remember the names. I hope that the publicity will bring business to the entrepreneurs. Good luck to the baby wipe mompreneur!

British Columbia is known as the most entrepeneural province in Canada, probably due to the high percentage of immigrants. Out of the three finalists, two are women, and two are British Columbians. Could also mean that women and British Columbians are more eco-conscious? .. since this is a greenvention contest.
